Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 September 2026
Paushtik is a household meal-planning app provided by dataAdroit. This policy explains how the current version handles information.
1. Information used by the app
Paushtik lets an adult household planner enter information needed to prepare suitable menus. This may include:
- Household name, city, language, cuisine preferences, cooking habits and budget preferences.
- Household members’ names, relationships and broad age bands.
- Dietary patterns, food preferences, allergies, dislikes, wellness goals and lunchbox needs.
- Weekly menus, grocery selections, meal feedback and preferences learned from that feedback.
- Email address and account identifiers when a user chooses to create a Paushtik account.
2. How information is used
The app uses this information to create and customise household meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, cook instructions and future menu suggestions. For signed-in users, it is also used to back up the household and prepare secure family sharing.
3. Storage, collection and sharing
Paushtik stores household and meal-planning information locally on the user’s device so core features continue to work offline. If a user creates an account, the app also sends the account, household, menu, grocery, feedback and learning information to Paushtik’s cloud database for backup and synchronisation.
Supabase provides authentication and database hosting for Paushtik. The production database is hosted in the Mumbai region. dataAdroit does not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current version.
Meal photographs are loaded from image providers including Unsplash and Pexels. When an image is requested, the provider may receive standard technical request information such as the device’s IP address and browser or app user-agent, subject to that provider’s privacy practices. Paushtik does not send household profiles, meal feedback or allergy information to those image providers.
4. Sharing instructions with a cook or helper
When a household planner chooses to send cook instructions or a grocery list, Paushtik prepares a plain-text message and hands it to whichever app the planner picks, such as WhatsApp. Nothing is sent until the planner chooses a recipient, and Paushtik has no visibility of the message afterwards.
That message contains the day’s menu, quantities, cooking notes, and the allergy and dietary exclusions the cook must respect, listed against the first name of each household member they apply to. This is included because a cook who does not know an exclusion cannot honour it. Health conditions, wellness goals, age bands, feedback history and learned preferences are never included.
A planner who does not want a member’s name to appear in cook instructions can record that member under a nickname.
5. Security
Locally saved information is held inside the app’s private storage area. Cloud access requires authentication and household records are protected by database Row Level Security so signed-in users can access only households they belong to. Information is transmitted over encrypted network connections. Users should still protect their device and account credentials. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Retention and deletion
Local information remains until it is changed or reset in Paushtik, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Signing out or uninstalling does not by itself delete cloud records. A signed-in user can permanently delete their Paushtik account and associated cloud household data from Family → Account & backup → Delete account and cloud data. If the app is inaccessible, the user may follow the account deletion instructions or contact dataAdroit at the address below. Identity verification may be required for an email request.
7. Children’s privacy
Paushtik is intended for adult household planners and caregivers, not for independent use by children. An adult may add a child’s broad age band and dietary needs to plan family meals. If the adult enables cloud backup, that information is included in the household record under the adult’s control.
8. Nutrition and health information
Paushtik provides general meal-planning and wellness information. It is not a medical service and does not replace advice from a doctor or registered dietitian, particularly for allergies, medical conditions or therapeutic diets.
9. Choices and future changes
An account is optional during the current pilot; users may continue with device-only planning. If future versions introduce analytics, grocery integrations or other data-sharing features, this policy and relevant app-store disclosures will be updated before release. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date.
