Effective and last updated: 4 September 2026

In short: SnapMed is designed to keep medicine information and SnapMem activity history on your device. The current release does not send prescription or medicine photos to dataAdroit, use advertising trackers, or sell personal information.

1. Who we are

SnapMed, including its SnapMem activities, is provided by dataAdroit (“we”, “us” or “our”). Questions or privacy requests can be sent to snapmed@dataadroit.com.

2. What SnapMed does

SnapMed helps an adult organise medicine details, schedules, reminders, stock estimates and dose records for themselves or people they support. SnapMem provides optional recreational cognitive-stimulation activities. SnapMed is an organisational tool, not a medical device, and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Always follow advice from a qualified healthcare professional and the dispensing label.

3. Information handled by the app

Depending on the features you use, information stored locally on your device may include:

  • profile nicknames, relationship descriptions and broad age groups;
  • medicine names, strengths, forms, schedules, instructions, stock estimates and attached prescription or package photos;
  • dose records such as taken, skipped, time recorded and medicine-plan changes;
  • SnapMem activity history, active time, attempts, hints, difficulty, content shown and optional enjoyment or difficulty feedback;
  • de-identified photo-reading review information, such as which fields were suggested and whether the user changed them. This review record does not contain raw recognised text, medicine values, a patient identity or the prescription image.

The app does not require a SnapMed account. Please use a nickname rather than a full legal name where practical.

4. Camera, photos and text recognition

Camera and photo-library access is requested only when you choose to photograph or select a prescription, medicine package or family photo. Medicine and prescription text recognition in the current public release runs on the device using platform text-recognition technology. The selected medicine or prescription image is not sent to dataAdroit.

An attached prescription or medicine image may be copied into the app’s private storage so it remains available with the saved medicine. Family photos selected for a SnapMem activity are used for that activity and are not uploaded to dataAdroit.

5. Reminders

If you allow notifications, SnapMed schedules medicine reminders locally on your device. Reminder content may contain the profile nickname, medicine name and dose information so the reminder is useful. The current release does not use a dataAdroit server to deliver these reminders.

6. Analytics and sharing

SnapMem activity analytics are stored locally and used to provide on-device history and improve the experience for that device. Enabling “Help improve SnapMem” currently saves only your preference; it does not upload activity information.

SnapMed does not include third-party advertising, behavioural tracking or cloud analytics in the current release. It does not sell or rent personal or health information. If you deliberately use a device sharing feature, the information goes only to the destination you select and is then subject to that destination’s privacy practices.

7. How information is used

Locally stored information is used to provide the features you request: displaying medicine plans, estimating remaining stock, scheduling reminders, keeping dose history, reading text from selected images, presenting SnapMem activities and showing activity summaries.

8. Retention and deletion

Information remains on your device until you remove it using available in-app controls, clear SnapMed’s app storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app. SnapMem includes a “Delete my activity history” control. SnapMed also provides controls to remove medicine lists and restart setup.

Because the current release does not create an online SnapMed account or upload this information to dataAdroit, we generally cannot view or remotely delete information stored on your device. See how to delete your SnapMed data for exact steps.

9. Security

SnapMed relies on the security and private application storage provided by Android or iOS. Protect the device with an appropriate passcode and keep its operating system current. No storage or security method is guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children

SnapMed is intended to be set up and managed by an adult aged 18 or over. It is not directed to children and does not offer children an online account. An adult may create a local profile to organise medicines for a younger family member.

11. Future cloud features

If a future version offers cloud-assisted photo reading, synchronisation or uploaded product analytics, we will provide an appropriate in-app explanation and choice before information leaves the device. We will also update this policy and the relevant app-store disclosures before enabling that feature.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SnapMed changes or legal requirements evolve. The effective date above will be revised when we make changes. Material changes affecting how personal or health information is handled will also be communicated appropriately in the app.

13. Contact

For privacy questions, email snapmed@dataadroit.com. For urgent medical questions, contact a doctor, pharmacist or emergency service; please do not send urgent or sensitive medical information by email.
